Natural location and authentic atmosphere
On the border of Achterhoek and Veluwe, between Steenderen and Bronkhorst, lies “De Molenkolk”. This fish and bird-rich water is a branch of the IJssel. Our farmhouse “De Hemel” from 1843 with a few outbuildings stands on this beautiful, rustic location. One outbuilding was rebuilt in 1994 into four guest accommodations, while maintaining the authentic atmosphere.
Nature and landscape
We keep the natural environment in our yard as much as possible in its original state. You will also find wild flowers, pollard willows, numerous tall fruit trees, hedges and a wide variety of walnut, lime and chestnut trees around your guesthouse. A dorado for many species of birds.
Tranquil environment with lots of nature and culture
In addition to being an excellent place for fishing, the Molenkolk is a more than suitable base for walkers, riders, cyclists and bird watchers. People who love a rural atmosphere and are looking for a peaceful environment feel at home with us. In the immediate vicinity you’ll find a lot of nature, culture and history present. Our Bed & Breakfast, as well as our region, can be enjoyed every season.

Bed & Breakfast De Molenkolk boasts decades of experience in delivering excellent quality and hospitality
Since our start in 1994 we have been offering our guests good quality and personal attention. We have been affiliated with a number of trade associations for many years. These organizations select and assess the accommodations on quality, character, hospitality and atmosphere.
We find accessibility and hospitality essential in our work. Our attractively furnished guest accommodations are therefore easily accessible for people who are less mobile. The living / dining room with kitchen, the bedroom and the bathroom are on the ground floor.
Bed & Breakfast De Molenkolk is situated between the Achterhoek and the Veluwe regions. Our beautiful surroundings have so much to offer!
Our farmhouse is located on an old river dune on a dead end of the IJssel. From this location you can explore both the Achterhoek and the Veluwe. Within walking distance are the “Bronkhorst Mill”, the rural village of Steenderen and the smallest town in the Netherlands, Bronkhorst. You can discover and experience the beautiful IJssel landscape on foot. A number of beautiful hiking trips have been set out.
You can visit the atmospheric Hanseatic cities of Deventer, Doesburg and Zutphen during one of your bike rides. For a change, take the ferry across the IJssel to Dieren or Brummen. From there you can admire the Veluwe with its beautiful forests.
